Remote Assistance Service

OMIT is now enhancing our technical support to better serve our customers. For the first time, we are offering Remote Assistance on all software or operating system repair work. Remote Assistance is completely safe, quick and convenient.

Here are the benefits...

  1. No need to transport your computer to our service depot. This is ideal for those customers who are unable to lift or disconnect their computer tower, do not have the time to bring in their system, or do not want to be faced with any downtime.

  2. No on-site charge. Because the technician is not dispatched, the service is not deemed to be on-site. Remote Assistance is classified as depot even though the system is not moved.

  3. You have full control of your computer. During a Remote Assistance session, you can press the ESCape key anytime to disconnect the session. This is handy if you feel that the service is taking too long to complete.

  4. It's like having the technician there beside you. While the service is being performed, a two-way chat window is available. If you have a question, just type it in the chat window.

  5. Service can be done while you are away. If you need to step out, but want the service session to continue, just permit the technician to take control of the system. Again, this permission is under your control.

  6. Learn to help yourself in the future. During the session, you get to see what the technician is doing, and thus learn new techniques or technology.

  7. Keep an eye on the technician. Further to 6 above, because you see what is happening, you can advise the technician not to access private information.

  8. You initiate the service. Our technicians are "invited" to perform services and cannot access your system without your approval or prior invitation.

  9. Service is secure. This is a big one. If your system has a firewall program installed, you are as secure as visiting your bank website.

  10. No software to install or download. Remote Assistance works using software already installed and configured on every Windows XP system by default!

This is a wonderful benefit to anyone who uses a computer. You owe it to yourself and/or your business to take advantage of Remote Assistance and OMIT's ever expanding computer services. Contact us today and we would be happy to assist you.
Notices: Although On-Site Charges are not applicable, hourly service rates do apply. Currently all services are chargeable at $70 per hour with a minimum $35 (half-hour) charge. Remote Assistance only applies to systems running Microsoft Windows XP operating systems. This service only pertains to software or operating system related work. No hardware or startup repair can be performed using this method. There is no guarantee that this method will fix your computer. Therefore, you should make the decision to abort the service before the first half-hour is over. It is advisable that if the computer be brought in to our depot or a technician be dispatched. A credit card authorization is required prior to commencing service. You require a functioning email system (email program and Internet provider) to initiate a session and working high-speed Internet. Session invitations are sent via email, and sessions are conducted via the Internet. Your computer must at least be able to start Windows XP. If Windows cannot be started, the advice is to bring your computer in to our depot.
