Our History
Company highlights:
- 1998: Office Mate International Technologies (Canada), Inc. was incorporated nationally by its founder, Christopher Donalds to provide custom computers, servers, laptops and computer components to the home and business markets
- 1999: OMITINC.COM was created
- 2000: OMIT releases the new Jemm system which included a colourful translucent tower, and matching keyboard and mouse.
- 2000: The company is a key technology vendor at the Vancouver Home and Business Expo
- 2001: OMIT becomes a Maxtor Reseller Partner, offering VAR pricing on hard drives and storage devices
- 2001: In January 2001, OMITINC.COM was nominated for, and awarded the prestigious Golden Web Award for 2001-2002.
- 2002: OMIT establishes its first retail store to serve the public directly
- 2002: The company joins both the ATI and Intel Dealer channels
- 2002: For the second time in as many years OMIT wins the Golden Web Award for 2002-2003
- 2002: OMIT becomes an Authorized Seagate Reseller
- 2004: We are voted the best place to buy a computer among Okanagan citizens
- 2005: Annual sales double over the annual sales of 2004
- 2006: OMIT opens its second retail store in Kelowna, becoming the only independent computer systems retailer to have more than one store
- 2006: Annual sales triple over 2005 figures. Forecasts indicate that sales figures will reach 600% of 2005 sales numbers
- 2007: OMIT becomes Authorized Resellers for Aldelo, makers of the best packaged Windows-based Restaurant Point-of-Sale software in January. At this time, we are the exclusive resellers for Aldelo in Canada.
- 2007: Further enhancing our support of restaurants, OMIT becomes an associate member of the British Columbia Restaurants and Foodservices Association. See our latest listing at the BCRFA website
